  1. No raking in the bunkers until after you have played your shot

  3. Mark your ball prior to cleaning on greens

  4. All players must tee off from the BLUE TEES.

2 BALL AMBROSE

  • Groups of two players (2 person Ambrose) work as a team. Each player hits off the tee, the best shot is selected and all other players pick up their ball and place it, within a scorecard distance, alongside the best ball. Each person then hits a second shot from the same spot. The best shot is again selected. This continues until the ball is in the hole. On the putting green the best ball is marked and the other balls are played from this position.

One score is thus recorded on each hole. This is the sum of the best shots used throughout the hole.

  • A minimum of 5 drives per player must be used.

  • If your best ball is played from within a hazard/rough then each of the player’s balls must be played from within that hazard

  • Your end score is adjusted for the handicap of the players in your team

  • The handicap of the team is calculated by combining the handicaps of the 2 players and dividing by 4 to arrive at the team handicap. This is then subtracted from the Gross Score of the Team to arrive at the Net Score.

  • On each hole it will be 2v2, which means each team will hold each other accountable, with added tournament officials around the course to keep an eye on players.

NEAREST TO PIN

  • Ball must land on the green, fringe does not count.

  • Flagstick is to be used as measuring stick if there is an unsure distance between two marks.

  • There will be 4 holes with individual prizes for nearest to pin.

  • Use the marker provided to identify the new nearest to pin.

  • Please write your full name clearly on the markers to ensure no mistakes are made.

DECIDING TIES IN EVENTS

  • 1.25 - Ties in events shall be decided using the R&A guidelines being: For 18 hole events the best score for the last 9 holes shall be used, if there is still a tie, the last 6 holes or if still tied the last 3 holes. If a tie still persists then hole by hole from the 18th. In handicap events the relevant handicap or fraction thereof shall be applied. In this case it will be half your handicap.

  • Therefore, it is your score for the last 9 holes minus half of your handicap.
